I've been thinking about yesterday's bomb at our attempt at agility. I've come to a few conclusions. I think they are accurate, but who knows.

I am not a real bubbly handler. Hilda isn't used to a lot of excitement from me. I forgot that when when she sees it, it is usually exciting to her, and causes her to be too playful. for example, one of the things I was worried about was fast heel. when I run she gets all excited, playful and tries to play tug with the lead. we've been working on this, and she didn't do that yesterday. But In my attempts to get her attention firmly focused on me, I was being far more animated than usual. I think if I had been calmer, she would have done better.

also, she gets more privleges than she's earned, and I think we will be coupling a little more working around the house with regular training. some dethroning may be in order.

my daughter was such a shy and careful little girl that she hardly ever got disciplined. when her willfullness surfaced, we were sort of taken aback. Hilda's a little like that, she is a bit spoiled because she is so funny and clever.

just bouncing my thoughts around.
