today we had some equipment problems at the shop, officially my department. due to that I was late to boris' class and also had to leave a little early. I hereby vow to not only get him in the next session that starts Oct. 7, but to walk and train every day, and not miss one class, no matter what. ok, that said, when we got there he had been snatched out of his crate, fed a hasty supper and thrown in the van. he was understandably wound up. When I first got Hilda she lunged and acted aggressive to PEOPLE, not dogs. Boris has improved so much without the work I should have been putting in, If I give him the effort I gave Hilda he will be great.
so Boris, although always friendly, is boisterious. he jumps, he mouths, his welcomes generally have people pulling back in at least surprise if not alarm. I told John, "do not let anyone in this house until I have boris on a leash and prong!" so John's parents come to visit us for the first time. they are of the 'bad rottie' school, I especially want the dogs to behave. can't have them knocking over the 87 yr old stepmother now. to my utter surprise, Boris was an absolute gentleman. he was very sweet and subdued.
then tonight, to make up for shortchanging his class, I took him with me to the shop. there was a show tonight, and he just loves people so much!! again, no jumping, just mannerly sits and adoring looks. strange, it is like he finally realized that he shouldn't jump on people. anyone's dog have a sudden improvement in behavior? do they suddenly see the light??
