| Calming them down for leashes? I have two of the most exuberant rotts around. After they calm down, they do pretty well with training sessions. One is better than the other, but they settle down enough. My question to you all is with one human and two dogs, how do I gain control of the jumping, wagging, mouthing, whining, etc... behavior that they display when trying to put collars and leashes on? Lately, I've been making them sit and wait, which doesn't always work. They are just so excited it's nuts!?!? The first ten minutes of walking/training is calming them down. I take them both for a walk at the same time, so I'd rather not do one at a time. Lately, I've started putting their collars on about ten minutes before we go, so they kind of forget about it until they hear that leash jingle. Then look out, 185 lbs of dog coming through!!!!!Any suggestions? Thanks, Char.

| Back to formal obedience classes you should go! I walk 3 Rotts who are also hyper eager to get out there. They know what sit/wait means, as they get their collars and leashes put on before we set out..... |

| Thanks for your suggestions. It may be time for Lucy to have some formal training. Dolly should only need a refresher in the yard. Today wasn't too bad, except everybody else is out walking too and they are so happy to see people. You would think they live in a closet! Anyway, it wasn't too bad. I'll try the one at a time idea tommorrow and see how that goes. Thanks, Char ;)
