How to use a 30 ft long training lead?

Is there any specific/proper way of using non-retractable 30 foot long training lead (I have a 3 month puppy)?

Well, it depends on what you want to use it for. What do you have in mind?

Right now I use it for playing with her at the local forest preserve, she chases balls or other objects, that allows her enough room to move and run around and at the same time she's leashed.

What other things can I use it (I know "stay")?

No a long line is not going to help you with a stay. Dogs starts coming towards you how is the line going to help?

It is however useful in recalls for those dogs that don't have the drive to chase/be with you.

Actually, I have used long lines for stays, but as a safety precaution, not a training aid. I live in the middle of DC, and I like to practice stays where there are lots of distractions. Many of the busy public parks here are not fenced, and there is lots of traffic zooming around the edges. I will tie the end of a slim 30 foot line to a tree or fence and clip it to my dog's flat buckle collar when doing stays. The line is completely slack, so the dog is not aware that she's tethered. It gives me peace of mind, especially for out of sight stays.

Is there anything else I can use it for other than above?

Your foundation work should be done on lead, not a long line, so relax for a while. What you are using it for is just fine until you get some foundation in your formal training.

For puppy I find a harness a little easier to deal with when using a long lead for exercise & play. They tend to not get so tangled up.

Do some real happy recalls when your out playing & walk the pup. Leep it informa; and happy.

How do you practice "recalls", me and Jazmin see a trainer once a week (we speak polish), so I'm not sure what do you mean by recall and "leep it informa"?

Sorry

Recall is when you have the dog come to you. And I believe "leep it informa;" is actually "keep it informal".

Good point about the harness, I'll be getting it tonight. She often gets tangled up and extremely frustrated. She pays more attention to the lead then to whatever toys we're throwing around.

She's bitting on it almost like trying to fight it. It usually ends on her snapping and us going home, because at that point playtime is over

So thanks for pointing that out, harness it is
