Need doggie trick ideas!

Kyla and I just started obedience class last week and by the end of the 6 weeks we have to have taught our dog a doggie trick to do at the end of class wrap up...a talent show of sorts

Anyone have something original that they have taught their rotti to do? Any suggestions are appreciated!

High five or Bang are always a hit. Do a search on "Bang" and there is a thread about how to teach it. My Mother thought "bang" was the funniest thing she had ever seen, when we had Guerin do it for her, and he has won prizes at Fun Matches with it!

We taught Julius how to put all of our empty plastic bottles in the recycling bin. He has always loved carrying them & so we decided to turn it into something useful. With as much water as I drink, Julius stays busy.

We just would give Julius the empty bottle, lead him over to the big recycling bin so that his mouth was hovering over it & tell him to drop it. Once he mastered that, we added on the name that we wanted him to associate with dropping it in the bin. That word was recycle.

So when I hand him a bottle, I'll tell him to "go recycle" & he RACES to the bin, spits the bottle out & is waiting for the next one. It's pretty darn cute & useful on the days when I'm camped out on the couch with the laptop doing work.

Happy's puppy class trick was called 'raise the roof' it's basically a double high 5. We taught him high 5 first and then turned it into raise the roof..

oh thats cute! A friend of my brothers has a beagle that would sit pretty then he would say "lucy! touch down!" and she would do basically the double high 5...like they do in football! lol I like all of these ideas...maybe I will be ambitious and try teaching her a routine of two or three tricks! We will see! lol

How about figure 8s between your legs. I'm only 5'3 so having a Rotty slink between my legs is pretty funny...

lol that would be funny! I am 5'5" but very short legs I can't wait for Kyla to be feeling better since she got spayed the other day so I can start working with her on these ideas!

Dancing is cute too...I will have to see what she likes to do!
