| Question on getting a puppy @ 14 weeks vs. 10 weeks I talked to a few breeders about getting a puppy - puppies will be ready to go about 4-5 weeks before I will be ready to bring them home (having some work done on the house) my question is - is bringing a puppy home at age 12-14 weeks as opposed to 10 weeks - detrimental to its development, bonding with me, and training? |

| Sometimes a puppy brought home at an older age will not be as well socialized depending on the breeder and how much time is spent with the puppy. This can usually be quickly taken care of with plenty of attention and socialization. Also, an older puppy will housebreak more quickly.

| I could be wrong but I thought 12-14 weeks was the best age to bring them home. It gives them time to learn so much more from their mother and littermates, like bite inhibition, pack order, etc. Any experts out there know for sure?
