ideas on keeping dogs cool

I am currently in the proccess of having a cap put on the bed of my truck.. With summer right around the corner, I was wondering what kind of ideas, inventions, or gadgets any of you have to help keep your dog(s) cool....

We feed Chloe ice cubes. But she wilts like a flower in the heat. We live in Virginia, and she spends the hottest days sleeping over the AC vent. Does your dog swim? That cools them off quick.
