| please stop jumping sweetie I have a beautiful 6 month old rott named chyna. She behaves so well with the exception of jumping up on everyone that she see's. I don't mind it but she has jumped up on me and my wife before we go to work after i take her outside and gotten us dirty, which is no biggie but I can't seem to teach her to stop jumping. Any suggestions? |

| Dogs need rules that are black and white/right and wrong....you sound a little ambivalent in your attitude towards her jumping up. You can't have it both ways to begin....although later you can teach her a cue to jump up on you. She is getting reinforced in some way by her jumping up behavior. She needs to have consistency in this training. When she jumps up you fold your arms and turn your back to her. The instant she puts 4 on the floor, reward her.....or teach her a solid sit command so that she learns the only time she gets attention is when she is sitting..... |
