That was our thought as well, but this was the only class that was up and running right now so we jumped on it. Thank goodness there is only one puppy and the other dogs are very calm. And he is beyond beginner in his training as well and ready for a bit more advanced training. Oh well, now we know though that he CAN do a class and so his days of classes are just beginning!

Re: Puppy class

So, let's quit calling it "puppy class".............. silly girl. I kept having visions of big old guy surrounded by bouncing puppies looking like Gulliver in Lilliputian land.

Re: Puppy class

Preparation paid off, but this boy is something extra special. Letting him get his bearings and giving him a time out to refresh is just very smart..great first day at class !

Thanks Jory. You are so right preparation was key. We just did not want him to feel overwhelmed at any point and we for sure wanted him to enjoy the experience and have it all be positive! Mission accomplished. He was able to focus and work. I think as each week goes by it will become easier for him. And the nice thing about the experience yesterday was we were able to see, he will be able to go to fun matches this spring.

Re: Puppy class

WoHOoo Stevie! Glad to hear he was settled in for class. I'll attest to the fact that you CAN teach an old dog new trick, and commands and behaviors for that matter. I LOVE THE OLD ONES!
