| Training prices in your area. I constantly read threads that mention puppy classes and dog schools in US and Canada and Europe. Well in Mexico we have nothing of that sort. If you want to train your dog you have to set up an individual class for your dog that is held either at your house or at the trainerīs business. Because of this situation classes are costly and most people in Mexico do not train their dogs which is horrible. Because of this I was wondering what are the normal rates for private classes in your area, just to compare.

| Re: Training prices in your area. For ob...10 week classes are $85, not including any equipment needed for the class. (Dumbells, etc.) Private ob. sessions (same trainer) are $30 per hour, keeping in mind the trainer doesn't advertise, but prefers to work one-on-one only with known clients. Agility is $40 per month for once a week classes, or $20 per hour for private lessons (which is what I'm currently doing.) The low cost takes into consideration the remote location of the instructor. She's a good hour each way from most of her students.

| Re: Training prices in your area. Our Ob classes are $100.00 for a 6 week session. Trainer will come to the house for $35.00 per hour but only to work with us on OUR behavior and only if we are in classes. The latter could be specific to us because he knows our dog and what we really need. |

| Re: Training prices in your area. I'm lucky here, don't pay that much - maybe because our trainer is connected with the our local kennel association. Ours is $85 for an 8-week course. Private, one-hour lessions are $65. |

| Re: Training prices in your area. 1 hour private sessions run $50 and up here (or at least the ones I have been in contact with). I would prefer to pay the $300.00 for the 10 week course though .... |

| Re: Training prices in your area. Basic Obedience is about $75/6 weeks at a private facility, and $65/10 weeks at the kennel club. Show handling at the same kennel club is also $65/10 weeks. But you have such large groups. I prefer the private facility for basic and the other kennel club. The other club has a large, active show handling base. Two kinds of classes are available for show handling or more advanced obedience. One is a 6 week session for $65. The other is $10/week come when you feel the need to refresh and practice. The nice part is you may meet without instructors for free and just critique each other. We do it outside at the park in summer but use the facility in winter. You could also meet at one of these for practice or refreshers.

| Re: Training prices in your area. I'm not sure how much private classes are here, but on average a 6 week course (once a week) is around $130. Some a little less, and currently is a little more. But you get what you pay for I'm finding. I've seen some nearly $200, but they are totally geared to show, and OB trials.
