What is Pre-Obedience class?

Just wondering if anyone knows what a pre-obedience older puppy class is.

I finally found a class thats about 45 minutes away from us and they are only offering a pre obed. class at this time. I emailed them to get more info, but while I'm waiting I figured I could ask around here to get more of an idea.

anyone want to come open a good training school near me? The classes we are going to now are 40 mins away, so I guess it's not a big deal to go to these..just not looking forward to climbing the big huge mountain the other way in the winter months!

Never hear of one. We have a puppy beginners which is for pups too old for KPT, but with easier pace than used for older dogs.

Re: What is Pre-Obedience class?

that may be what it is, because she told me 5 months is the youngest they will accept for this class.

she loosely described it to me as obedience training w/ positive rewarding.

If it is similar to your puppy beginner's class would this be an appropriate classs for Happy and I to take?

I need to rant:
I am getting so frustrated with trying to find a place for us to take classes. I have people who do respond telling me to email other people who's emails no longer are valid or that they don't know of anything in my area. Or that they aren't offering classes until springtime. I just want to do the right thing with my puppy, I like to earn a CGC and a CD. I love the woods but sometimes it's just so darn restrictive! I really hope this place 45 mins from me is holding a class that is appropriate for us...otherwise I'm pretty much out of options..

Take the class that you can get into.......... Don't ask for steak if peanut butter is the only thing available. Just go, you'll enjoy it and yes, more motivational training is always good regardless of the age. Not to worry.

Re: What is Pre-Obedience class?

thanks Judi I can always count on you for quick straight up responses.

The girl emailed me today and will be getting back to me as for times, dates etc. She thinks the class would be perfect for us. She also told me that once this series is complete, they are holding a CGC class that we can sign up for if I feel he's ready.

I am sorry you are having so much trouble with class scheduling in your area. But nothing beats having a class to go to each week Jas and I couldn't get into the agility class we wanted so I got into a tricks class figured it would be fun and keeps us both out of trouble

Where is Seward in relation to other cities in PA? We have quite a few members living all over the state & maybe we could be of some help finding you a training facility....
