that light

Judi W spoke of is blindingly bright! at this new class we:

worked mostly off lead

sat our dogs in a big circle, commanded stay, stepped back and owners walked around behind the circle till back to our own dog. she stayed, alert and watching me, but stayed.

sit, stay command owners walked inside circle and stood while trainer walked her dog around the circle, in front of sitting dogs. she stayed.

sit, stay owner walks ahead. called dog to front between two white boards. took her one try to get it. we hadn't worked on front command in other class.

sit stay went over low jump

watched other dogs sit, wait, retrieve dumbbell or large treat over jump on command. we didn't have either a dumbbell or large treat that night. I tried this at home in the driveway, no jump, but she waited and retrieved the pinecone on command.

during the class, while some were waiting in line to do an exercise, others would go out to other areas of the field to work on something. dogs off lead everywhere. desensitizing for my fear of dog aggressive dogs.

there are other things that I don't know how to do with her, I read reference to these things in the handouts. I feel confident both that I can ask, be shown and Hilda will learn it quickly.

And you are just beginning. The more you do the more you appreciate each other! Not just you but the dog learns trust. Patience, forgiveness..........
