He Passed!!!

I am so happy; today Lothar passed his Canine Good Citizen test. Yippy!! I am so relieved. The recall really had me worried, but he passed! Next on to agility, I think he is going to really like that. He has done a few things in class just to see if he liked it and I really think he did and he caught on very quickly. Wish us luck, class starts next month!

Congrats! That's wonderful, you're definitely on the road to a well-trained dog--good luck with your future training goals
I'm certain you'll both enjoy agility, its a hoot! Just make sure you work with someone who has some large breed experience

Congratulations and WTG Lothar - Doesn't it feel great that your training has paid off. Best of luck with agility.

Is getting a dog's CGC a requirement of most, or all Agility Clubs? or does it differ depending on the clubs affiliations, etc?? I was wondering about this, because I was interested in Agility for Maddox and I...Im sure you would probably atleast have to have some sort of obedience test, correct??

Just wondering, as Im not very familiar (Okay, I know basically nothing about it...other than it looks like alot of fun!) with agility...and I have tried to look for a local club around my area online...no such luck, sofar, atleast.

Logan

**Sorry if i should have posted this Q. in another place...just thought id ask, since Beverly (the OP) brought it up..and, the thought of another new thread, started by me, with another random, kinda stupid question in the "Title" field, and my name in BIG BOLD LETTERS as the author makes me cringe....lol...

Well I am not an expert on the subject by any means, but for me I wanted to make sure my dog knew how to behave himself enough to do agility and listen for my commands. I really don’t know if the CGC is a requirement, I doubt it though. But I would assume most places would want your dog to have some OB training.

Thanks everyone for the congrat’s. I do feel good having a dog that can be a good citizen. Now if only he could be a good citizen at home with the cats… That is a completely different story.
