Useful Tricks!

The first useful trick I taught Harley was to wake up my man. He's so not fun to wake up, so I first taught Harley to "Give Bri-Bri Kisses", and once she got that down, I can tell her that at any time and she'll wake him up that way.

The newest trick is to bring Mommy toilet paper! haha Wierd, I know, but with three 'men' in this house, you'd think it was a four hour job to replace a roll of toilet paper. Then again, you'd think I'd look before I sat down! heh So, since Harley's ALWAYS in the bathroom with me anyways, I taught her to grab a roll, and this morning was the first time I got to put it in use. She did it. I love how bloody smart she is!! And she is so proud when she gets the praise! Usually I use treats, but it's not often I have a treat laying around the bathroom (hee hee) and the praise works just as well.

What else can I get her to do? She should have a morning ritual...CHORES!! hehehe Wonder if I can get her to vacuum?

Re: Useful Tricks!

hehhehehe I taught Harley to wake my husband up too. It isnt too hard since he LOVES to lick and he LOVEs to bounce around! hehehehe Gotta use the puppy years to your advantage! he will RUN over and lick my husbands ears Almost CLEAN! It wakes him up though. I have heard of people teaching their dog to help them with laundry. Insted of bending down to get clothes out of the hamper teach your dog to pick it up and hand it to you.

Re: Useful Tricks!

Elmo knows how to do this as well...and the best part is if I tell Elmo to "Go get his Da"...he will run and jump on the bed and lick him...BUT the harder my hubby squirms and tries to get away, the harder Elmo licks!!!! It is HYSTERICAL!

Elmo can "Go to his da" (or anyone for that matter)...he can "show you" where someone is....its so cute!!!!!!

Re: Useful Tricks!

Hercules doesn't know too many useful tricks But so far in the 3 months I've had him I've unknowingly at some point taught him "whose there?". I must have started it when I would hear some noise, any noise, and would look at Hercules and say "whose there?".He gets his undies in a bunch when he hears me say that. He immediately gets up starts patroling the house or the yard for whatever noise he can find and then starts barking and growling at it. I figure this could come in handy if I ever hear a suspicious noise around the house late at night and who knows - it may buy me some time if I had to call the police (God forbid!)!

I still haven't taught him to pick up his toys, but I assure you that is coming real soon!

Hahaha She was JUST trying to help Your girl is such a character!

Akasha has a few jobs around the house. She brings me different items off the floor. She closes cupboard doors for me. She carries the hose for me when I water the horses. She carries groceries into the house for me. She puts my husbands dirty clothes in the laundry room (since he doesn't know how ) I tried teaching her to put dirty clothes in the washer but she kept trying to jump on top of it and I was afraid she was going to fall in.
Her most important job tho is keeping the house free from insects

Keil's job is to supervise his sister while she is doing her job
