Our first obedience class

Wow! What a joy! We learned so much in just one hour and the dogs were really receptive, especially Caesar. I have been working with them here at home which may account for how quickly they caught on but the amount of information and direction we received in the first class alone will make our lives much easier and our dogs much more happy.

Re: Our first obedience class

GREAT! That's very encouraging to hear. And while you may have given them a leg up, so to speak, by working with them at home...don't discount their overall brilliance! Rottweilers tend to shine well above many breeds.

And an extra big CONGRATS to Ceasar! How old is everyone?

Your post should be required reading for the newbies who respond to encouragement to take their dogs to class that they don't feel they have to because they've always trained dogs at home and know what to do.

Re: Our first obedience class

I agree with AngelBunny. Class is a must!!!!!! Helps a lot with novice owners. We started basic agility (getting familiar with the equipment) and Obed. 1. Jango learns so fast that the instructor now has me do all of his commands on my left side. I want to try for a CD in a year or so, I am very excited. Agility and Maybe Shutz as well.

Re: Our first obedience class

Casey Jo and I start puppy headstart this week, she's 15 weeks old. We can't wait! From reading this board, seems like it'll be a blast and very beneficial!
