Choke or pinch collar

Hi all, I am starting obedience class with bear this wend, who just turned 8 months. I was going to buy him a choker (as required by the instructor), but I was told a pincher is more safe/better for the dog. What do you guys know about the differences and why is one better than the other? Thanks.

Re: Choke or pinch collar

Do a search on collars and/or pinch collars there are references to articles and personal experiances by forum members, a lot of them trainers, breeders and so forth. the search button is on the menu near the top of the page.
I personally use the pinch for formal (in class and during our sessions) training and the choke for everyday use. From my research it appears that for corrections, the pinch is a much safer coller
