Trainers in South Florida

I would appreciate any advice out there......
I have a 7 month old female. We took a puppy class a few months ago for 6 weeks and it worked out well for both of us. I would like to get some more personalized attention and am looking for a trainer in the West Palm, Boca Raton or Ft. Lauderdale area.

I believe Phil Holcher is living down in Ft. Lauderdale now. He does work more with GSD but that is by choice. I had the pleasure to work with Phil in the mid 70's when we both lived in Miami. He is an excellent trainer and is great with problem solving. I don't have a phone number on him but you may want to look it up in a local phone book.

Depends on what you want to do. Florida is also a hotbed for Schutzhund trainers.

Phil's area of expertice is really Schutzhund. He started a few clubs and has worked with Police K9's for many years but he also does get involved in behavioral problems and or regular training. I wish he lived here, I would enjoy working with him again.

I think he put on a seminar that Spoteet went to not that long ago. If you ever do get an opportunity to work with him, I would highly recommend it. Phil has a real unique way of problem solving with dogs. LOL

I don't have any particular problems with her, she is a normal 7 month old. I am the one who needs help with obedience type commands and follow through.
My puppy class teacher wanted to work with us one on one but she specializes in small dogs. I would prefer someone who knows Rottweilers well.

Well, I spelled his last name wrong :( I suppose that makes a difference. It's Hoelcher and his web site is http://www.hoelcher.com/ His address on that site is way down in Miami. That is quite a hike from where you are.
