No time like the present to get him into a puppy class. You may want to check out AKC.org for a training club in your area. And Welcome to the forum.

If you're looking for an interesting book on canine learning, check this out:

http://www.dogwise.com

And look for "How Dogs Learn"

It's in very plain English, gives you the science behind discovering how dogs learn, and then shows you how to use what they present.....not necessarily in ways like "to make a dog sit, do this" but......it will give you a great background for the rest of your dog's life, and will also clear up some common misconceptions about canine intelligence.

Good luck, and enjoy, training is a blast!!! :) :)
