LOL...and I can understand why after that protrayal! :D Yes, Disel can be a handful, and there were times prior to starting his SchH OB that he could be difficult to handle. I thik what Steven was trying to portray was that he had rather poor leash manners until about two months ago when I cracked down on him. Although, not my first Rottweiler, he's my first working Rott so I chalk it up to inexperience. As we know training is done a little differently for a young working dog than your average pet dog. I am far more prepared for the second one that is due to come home in March.

I am not against the collar, just leary of it after having closely inspected it. I just have horror visions of the prongs snapping on it. I might use it for a young dog as a precursor to the prong, teach basic leash manners, etc. I would never use it for SchH training, but maybe for basic Ob on a young dog. On an adult though I think I would have to defer to a traditional prong.

As you know, puppys like to walk in any direction they desire and it really is not a good idea to get into to much obience work before 1 year if your training for schutzhund. Could hurt the drive of the dog. But you may not be aware of this. I understand that alot of folks on this forum have rescues and other notweiler dogs.
Nope, not training for Schutzhund here. :D Julius is our OB, flyball, agility & maybe in the spring, tracking dog. :)

I will look at the collars when I go to PetSmart in about a week. I probably will not purchase one but I'm interested in what they look like. Julius does well on the regular prong collar so if it's broke don't fix it! :D

I'm not an advocate for this collar and from all I've seen of it, the large size is only pictured with large breed working dogs. Like anything else, it is a tool and in the proper circumstance used the proper way, I'm sure it has it's merits. It does seem like it would be very closed minded to pass judgment without even trying it. IMO
Hey Rottwiley! Do you have a flex leash also for your dog?
