Reno And the Kitty lol

Well My Now 4 month old Reno Can't seem to get it that the cat is not a puppy and can't play lol the cat sometimes Teases him walking back and forth Reno gets up runs over to him and by the time he gets there reno is standing over the cat nub going 90 miles a hour Not hurting him mind you but you would think he was killing the cat as much as he is meowing n such But my question is since the dog isn't tryin to hurt the cat what would be the best way to go about getting the dog and the cat to atleast live together with out races through the house lol

Hmmm, when we were dealing with this with Julius I actually tied his leash to my belt loop. Then I would be able to catch him BEFORE he started chasing Poof. It seemed to work well for us.

:)

Well I thought about that myself but theres those times that you can't have a leash on him Like waking up in the morning etc I read somewhere something to try is go into a room cat and dog dog on a leash and let them check each other out and if the dog goes for the cat pop leash and say No Just wanted to try and get it under control before he gets to big and might hurt him

Well when you're waking up in the morning where is Reno? Is he in a crate?

Well then if that is the case & you cannot leash Reno to your belt loop then I would leave the cat out of the bedroom so that Reno is not tempted. If you are not able to correct Reno for being too excited around the cat then I would not put him in the place of being AROUND the cat. Does the cat have a "safe" room in which to go? Maybe you should invest in some baby gates. They're pretty cheap. About $10 at Wal-Mart & we still have ours up. Sometimes Poof just needs to get away.
