Last tracking class

We had our last tracking class last night and boy was it great. Guerin ran a 200 yard track that had been aged for 2 hours. He worked really well. Made all the turns(3) and only lost his focus a couple of times and was easily brought back to the task. Our trainer was really pleased with him last night and really wants him to keep training and try for a TD someday. We are going to keep meeting informally with her and a couple of other people from the class, until the spring, when we will enroll in an intermediate class.
The track last night was laid at an equestrian part so there were lots of distractions on the field for him and he made us proud by sticking to the task.
We like the tracking so much we are joining the local tracking club.
If you have not tried it you should it is really a lot of fun and the dogs just seem to love it!

Julius knows ALL about the distractions that horses bring. When it would rain during our agility class it would be held in the indoor riding ring. Julius always liked to do his part & try & sniff out any extra horse poo that needed "cleaning up".

Sounds like you had a blast. We would love to try out Julius with tracking at some point in the future. It sounds so interesting.

:)

I am so happy for you. Tracking is so much fun and Disel and I are having a blast. I love to follow what you are doing with Guerin because he is the same age as Disel. And he's a real cutie to boot! :D

Please keep us filled in! I also highly recommend tracking as a fun activity to do with your dog.

We do the same thing follow you and Disel! We have our first informal class this tuesday with our trainer and some of our classmates, should be a lot of fun.
We took him yesterday and ran a track with him and he just gets better all the time. He really likes to track. NOW if he just would have that kind of interest and energy in preparing for the seiger ring...........
