looking for a trainer in Middle TN area

Hello - and good evening... I am in need of a new trainer for Buddy in the Middle TN area. I will give more specific location if necessary. Buddy went to puppy school and gradauted last weekend. The location of his puppy class does offer more advanced traing BUT the trainer and his "after class" treatment of Buddy is questionable. He seems to like trying to provoke Buddy into acting poorly, (defensive biteing and snapping as if he were being attacked) so that he can force him into submission, leg sweeps, pinning him to the floor.. all the while Buddy looking to me for help. I feel like a horrible Mommy, I just stood there in utter disbelief!! needless to say Buddy won't be going back to that trainer. I have his graduation cert and will not be subjecting him to that again. As this was not the first time our trainer had acted like this towards Buddy, I don't know that he is even qualifies to feed my pup, much less give me advise on how to help him be an accecptable part of the human world. The trainer also liked to brag about all the rottie's he has trained and that he hasn't been bitten in "years". Upon Buddy's last altercation with the trainer, Buddy got him and if you could of seen the fear in my dogs eyes you would understand. I collected my things, my Buddy and we propmtly left. I thought my husband was going to punch the trainer.... but good judgmet got the better of him and we left ... Sorry to be so long winded, but in order to understand why i need a new trainer it took explaining.

"Spoteet" is somewhere around Knoxville, maybe she can refer you to someone local to her that has colleagues nearer to you. I'll PM her about your thread.

If you are close to Knoxville, there are several good trainers here. If your close to Nashville, the Nashville Dog Training club is supposed to be good. I would need to know where you are at in order to help you. Feel free to message me or email me.
