| Triple Crown Good Dog Collar - anybody used it? I was at training last night (schh club) and a friend showed me a new prong collar she picked up. It's called the Triple Crown Good Dog collar made by Triple Crown. She got it at PetsMart. Here is a link to see the collar: Good Dog Collar It looks like it is pretty well made. Getting it apart might take some getting used to. It has a smooth action and is very lightweight. One thing that is pretty cool is it doesn't really look like a "big nasty spike collar." My friend commented it looks like a buckle collar from a distance. She used it on her dog for protection and was very happy with it. I was wondering if anybody here had seen them and tried it out. I'll probably look at it a little more this weekend.

| Does anyone know if Petsmart will ship one of these collars to Australia. Need help here as I am so far away and would be grateful for any assistance or advice in how to get one over here. Haven't had any reply to my contact with Triple Crown. |

| Don't know there policy on shipping things but if they wouldn't and my petsmart carried them I would be willing to pick one up for you and ship it out if need be. Let me know what you find out.

| Why get an imitation when you can get the real thing? The good collar is just an imitation prong collar that is of less quality. Although I've never actually tested it on a dog, I have put it around myself and they do give a similar style correction. The prong collar seems much more durable and the way the links hook up on the "good dog" collar don't seem very stable. The construction of the equipment doesn not seem durable. |

| Just curious as to why someone would want to use this collar as opposed to a regular prong collar? It seems to me that if you have determined a need/desire to use a prong and have learned the proper employ of a prong, you should just go ahead and use it. Is the thinking that this is a kinder, gentler prong? If so, it looks a little hokey to me. I also think that if this is supposed to be a replacement for a prong, which I believe it is, they should at least have it in the proper position when on the dog. (as depicted in the use guide).

| Looks Hokey Pokey to me... You're too right Muck, the photo of the Aussie Shep was ridiculous! The collar was touching his shoulders it was so low! If you need a pinch, buy a pinch and learn how to use it PROPERLY. If you're that worried about people's stupid comments, make a thin nylon cloth tube to cover the collar. In any case, please show your dog some respect and don't NAG him with either of these collars. I see many dogs who have grown accustomed to constant nagging and basically ignore thier collars. It should be a crime.:(

| Thanks for the replies. Very interesting to read everyones opinion on these collars. In Australia I am unable to find anyone who supplies prong collars, the don't seem to be on the market at all. My Rott is just over 2 yo and though obedience trained she will pull at distraction and as she and I weigh almost the same it is difficult when walking. I would have already purchased a prong collar had I been able to find someone who stocks them. Thanks. |

| Thanks Iblax, I certainly would order off the net if I knew who stocked the prongs. Have done a search and come up with only a couple of addresses and both emails bounced. Could you point me in the right direction as far as ordering a prong. Never had so much difficulty in finding a product. I would be very grateful if someone could supply a contact. |

| Alexav, what gave you the idea that I nag my dog. I do show her respect. Can't figure out where this thought of yours came from, there is no need for this when a sincere enquiry is made. Get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning did you? If I could buy a pinch I would have bought one by now. |
