| building agility equipment? I'm sure that there must be a thread on this somewhere in the forums but my search turned up nothing. Amber's 2nd agility class was on Friday and she surprised the pants off of me (OK not literally). Not only did she zoom over the dog walk...repeatedly...and cruise over the A frame (about 3 1/2 feet high at it's crest this time) but she absolutely tore through the tunnels! Even the curved one & the chute (OK, one of the helpers held the end of the chute open for the new dogs but the fact that she went right through that curved tunnel just blew my mind). The kicker was the jumps...we couldn't persuade her to do three in a row, she kept on dodging around the last one in order to jump up on the table but she was soooo pleased with herself that the instructor had us limit Amber to just the one jump so that she could reward her :). Amber was chock full of attitude, too, it was truly amazing to see. Anyway, I'd like to work on the jumps at home with her & they look like they'd be super easy to build. Just some PVC pipe with screws for adjusting the pole height, right? Can anyone suggest a site for building agility equipment or any pointers to DIY? I'm only interested in jumps right now. I still can't believe that she tore through those tunnels! :D Nina

| Go Amber!!!!! That's fantastic news. I love seeing dogs having a blast doing agility. Wish I could see Amber in actions. She sounds like a great girl. Check out my equipment page, there is an agility section and it has plans for making equipment and places to get parts. http://members.aol.com/rottweilerworld/equipment.htm Dawn U-CD Cammcastle's Mystic Riven CDX OAC OJC OGC NA NAJ TT CGC http://members.aol.com/dplantier http://members.aol.com/rottweilerworld |

| The jumps I have in my back yard are similar to the ones here: http://www.internationalstafford.com...lityequip.html But without the z shaped bottoms. Instead of using the bottom they describe I just put a bar that can't be displaced at about 4" up from the ground in a "t" joint and glue it in place using pvc glue. I make a "T" at the bottom of each jump standard and the low glued in place bar keeps the jump stable and upright. I then only have one jump cup at 24" since that is the height we work. My Dad cuts the top half of a pvc "t" joint to make the jump cup. It's pretty simple. The above link breaks it down pretty well. The way I put them together I don't need anything other than a pvc cutter, pvc glue and a saw to cut the "t" joint in to a bar cup.
