| Anyone in San Antonio, TX or close around My husband and I plus the "clan" are moving to San Antonio, TX at the first of May from north Georgia. Does anyone live in San Antonio or close around?? I'm looking for clubs to join, ie. schutzhund, obedience, etc. and of course meet some friendly people to talk "dog" with!:D

| Not much help here... I'm up the road a bit (Fort Worth). Welcome to Texas though. I hope you like it here as much as I do. It IS like a whole other country (from the movie Giant).

| Zephir, I just moved home to PA after being in San Antonio for a while. It's a beautiful, fun-filled city, although a bit warm for my taste. Texas is definately a whole different world, however. In no time you'll be teasing your hair and wearing Wrangler jeans and cowboy boots! Have a blast! -Camille |

| Tease my hair?? Not on my life!!!:D I hated the '80's!!!:D I'm an ex-horse person so I know all about the Wranglers & boots. Just in the past year did I part with all my old Wranglers from my teenage years. I didn't think I would ever need them again plus they were every color of the rainbow (early '90's thing). I wouldn't be caught dead in those colors again!!:D Boy how my taste has changed over the years, an I'm only 27!!! I plan start riding again when I get to Texas. I want to ride english. I also want to look into getting a Malinois while I'm there. Boy, Texas is going to be a big change for me in more than one way!!! I can't wait!!! As far as the heat I'm a true southerner - I wouldn't know what to do if it was at least 100 degrees in the summer. But you know, when I am waiting till 9:00 at night to work my dogs I'll be asking you to send me some cool air from PA!!!:D

| You don't have to tease your hair!! :D I never teased my hair. You will be AMAZED at all the things that you can do there. And all the different CULTURES mixed in one city!!! WOW!! You HAVE to go visit Austin and sit on the front lawn of the Capitol building and feed the squirrels!!! OH that is so fun!!! Take a camera too, and when the squirrel climbs up your leg to get the peanut out of your hand, take a picture and post it here!!! In the fall, you can (in Austin) go sit down by the lake and watch the bats (about 1.5 million) fly out from under the Congress Avenue bridge!!! Festivals EVERYWHERE! SCHLITTERBAHN (water park) in New Braunfels. Fredericksburg, little German town, an entire strip of little shops and the BEST peaches! Yes, better than a GA peach!! mmmmmmmm!!!! Can I come with you, Zephir? :(

| Zephir, I was just "teasing" about the big "Texas Hair". We have a lot in common, though. I am also a 27 year old ex-horse girl, although I grew up riding hunt seat and switched to Western when I moved out west. Sophies Mom is so right about all of the great things to do. The culture is wonderful. You will find the best Mexican food this side of the border. Also, the dance halls are a blast even if you don't like country music. Be sure to check out Luckenbach (near Fredricksburg) on a weekend as you never know when Willie Nelson might show up. The Riverwalk is beautiful and fun, although a bit touristy. A great and cool summer activity is to float the Guadalupe or Comal river in an innertube. If your pooches like to swim, you can take them along. It's a lot of fun. San Antonio is also a very dog-friendly town. You can take your pals just about everywhere with you. Good luck with the move! -Camille |
