biting

Help,I have an 8 week old male rotti he is very intelligent and well behaved around me but he likes to bite playfully with my kids which i do not like. He does not seem to take correction from them any suggestions?. I use the word no and give him his toys which distracts him but 20 minutes later he will do it again. P. S. next week I am taking him to puppy classes.

biting

My female was the same way when younger ,she would play bite me and my wife,we would always use the no bite command and gave a good chew, then later added the settle command ,she is now 7mts old and has been threw puppy pre school and basic training program, she does it sometimes(play bite) but stops as soon as shes told ,,sometimes shes just full of herself and gets alittle crazy but not as bad as when she was younger,,Classes and constant verbal will help a great deal ,,, with kids you have to watch out because kids sometimes may have a tendency to invite a dog to play bite ,,adults do it also as sometimes I may play with a my rott using a stick or ball and she will get too excitied ....

For a quick fix;) YELP like his mommy dog would do. And say no in a deep voice (don't exaggerate though.) You can also do a search on this forum cause tere have been some extensive threads on how to handle that.

Best of luck, remember he's just a little baby. Don't go too rough on him yet.
