Temperment Test on Saturday - Last minute hints?

Bucky (and I) will be taking the Temperment Test on Saturday, April 6th 2002. Does anyone have any last minute advice or things to particularily be aware of? - All help warmly appreciated - Lisa (Bucky's Mom)

Get plenty of sleep the night before and trust your dog. :)

He is what he is......being nervous runs down lead. You two will be fine :)

Best of luck!!!

You may be on to something there. The day that Maggie was due to take her therapy test, I was suffering from, at that time, an unknown ailment that was causing me horrible aches and pains. I was on large doses of prescription anti-inflammatories which had the effect of making me a little "spacey" and very relaxed. LOL The test was really tough and Maggie wasn't bothered by anything. To this day, I have no idea how I got through the test, but I'm sure my "relaxed" state was a big help to Maggie.;)

A few tips:
Your dog must wear a flat buckle collar during exam, make sure to bring one.
You are not allowed to talk to your dog during the test.
You ARE allowed to talk to the bucket during the hidden noise test. If your dog is nervous you are allowed to speak to the bucket and act interested in it, to get your dog to approach.
You ARE allowed to touch the umbrella if your dog is fearful of approaching it.
Hold the leash firmly with both hands during the weird stranger portion, just encase your dog wants to move in closer.
The judge should go over all of this with you before the test. Listen closely to what is expected, that way you know what is going to happen when you are out on the field.
It really is quite simple and nothing to be worried about. The hardest part is not being able to talk to your dog.
Best of luck!
