Halti vs Gentle Leader

My nearest Pet supplies store only handles the Halti,Has anyone used that brand, I know some of you use the Gentle leader,This one says it pulls the pets head to the side,I thought I read the GL pulls it down,was I having a "brain cramp",or it that correct.I brought the Halti Home (19.95),but will take it back,and go to Pa. further away to get the other..at Petsmart..I don't like the head being pulled to the side,but if they both work that way,It'll have to do...Thanks Jean

I have the Halti also. Haven't tried the GL yet. I think I remember people mentioning that the Halti is alittle easier for our guys to get out of than the GL.

We have both. Both collars are basically the same except on the Gentle Leader you can adjust the strap that goes under the chin. I prefer the Gentle Leader because of this.

We originally bought the Halti and ended up returning after one (very aborted) wearing. Jake backed right out of it and took off across the street, scaring the bejesus out of both me and my husband. We then got the Gentle Leader (which we had really wanted in the first place) and have had no problems since then. It is a wonderful tool -- I don't know what we would have done without it.

I don't know where you live, but here in DE pet stores do not carry the GL. You have to get it from a vet or a trainer.

Thanks for your info,I'm going to return the Halti,and hopefully get the Gentle Leader at petsmart.. I live in eastern Ohio (ohio Valley) live close to w.va.line jusr accross the Ohio River then a couple of miles more,am in Pa. Thats my nearest Petsmart..I tried to order online,but they don't have Large in just the head collar,I could get the kit for $44.95 but would rather spend $25.Is that how you folks got then or with the kit and video??????
