Remote citronella collar

We use a remote citronella collar that only give a 2 second burst when we activate it, without a warning signal for enforcing some basic distance/ignoring problems. My question is this. My brother would like to borrow the collar to help with a problem with his dalmation. He has another dog in training for SAR, will the citronella screw up the other dog's scent capabilities?
