obedience update

Hi all to helped me a while back with getting Sam to like the obedience training we were doing. :D

I have been so busy this fall to post with our progess. For a refresher to our problems....Sam was copping an attitude with doing the obedience and you guys all helped me get him motivated when practicing and to get him to look forward to the new way we do training. He loves his classes and all the new trainers! He just loves working now and he's a joy to work with. He's getting to know what he's supposed to do at class and he can hold his own now with the other dogs who do have their CDs. I'm so proud of him! :) We're doing two walk-in classes; one is a novice obedience class and the other is a super/attention heeling class. So, we try to go twice a week.

Anyway, we're going to go for our CGC on January 25th and we have a show and go trial on February 4th. The latter is just a fun trial with our obedience club. :D He can still wear his prong during the show and go which is fine with us.

Just wanted to let all of you know that your help you gave us paid off in the biggest way! Thank you all soooooo much!!;)

More stubborn than the dog

Way to show 'em Mrs. Boats!! :D :D

Dogs are such amazing creatures.... :) I love it when an owners desires and persistance is greater than the dogs hopes that you'll just "forget about" this obedience thing and let him do whatever he wants.

They do learn to love it :) :)

Congratulations and continue to GO FOR IT in 2002!! :D

stubborn is my middle name....LOL

If you're married to an irish/swede mix....you learn to be very stubborn very quickly!:D LOL

I can't thank you guys enough for haranging me and lighting a fire under my butt. Everyone from friends and family say they can't believe the change in Sam....he's an absolute joy to be around. He's way more mellow and self-assured. My father in law took him for a long walk on Christmas morning while we were at my mother in law's house and he couldn't stop saying how good Sam was during the walk. Obedience training has paid off ten -fold. We have class tonight...the novice one. I look forward to it too. It's something that Sam and I do all by ourselves. It's definitely brought me and Sam together. Mr. Boats has very little to do with the training aspect of all of this. But, Sam does obey him too. (Mr. Boats is more or less "the play guy")

I'll definitely keep you all of you guys posted in the next couple of weeks with how he does.

**Side Note**: I've been lurking here a lot while I don't have much time to post. I haven't seen Mojave's Mom here in the longest time!! Does she still post here at all?
