1st 2 Points!!

Hi All - my 11-month old puppy earned his 1st 2 points yesterday! I watched from afar.. he's still a mama's boy! He has slept all day today... it's hard being a star

Trapper, (AKA purple puppy - Hemlock's Jack of Hearts) is now an official show dog!! ha-ha-- YIPPEE!

We are still smiling!!

Fri & Sat - Trapper got 1st in the 9-12 month dogs - only entry in age group
* He did better Sat, over Friday. Much more relaxed and stood still.

Sun - Trapper earned his 1st 2 points under Judge: William Hossler

* he lost to a very nice Bernese Mtn Dog

** Madison was fun because they give BOB in Puppies as well as regular Breed... and have seperate Group and BOS goining on for puppies. Trapper got alot of ring time on Sunday, which was great! Lots of claps from the crowd in his group class too.

Lu did a fantastic job of handling him. Trapper moved very well. He stood great on Sunday for the examination and is getting better at stacking. Lu received very good comments from the judges about him. His next show is at the end of the month, 4-days in Canfield... which will be tough - there were about 70-Rott's there last year... so I don't expect anything, just good experience. He'll be 1yr old on 6Aug -- so he's showing in the 9-12 months in
Canfield.

Don't worry... we are still working on all our obedience! Not only will he be a Handsome Boy, but a Working Boy too!

Well, 2 points down, 13-more to go with 2 majors! yikes... it's a process. But we're having fun!

Terri, must be the purple! I wish you and your boy luck too! I see that you have your guy herding ducks... Trapper has been on sheep about 5-times since he was 6-months old. He seems to like it so far... not really herding yet, glimpses of trying to control the sheep... but last time he play bowed and ran the other way hoping the sheep would chase him! LOL

I have to figure out how to load pictures. I've tried a few times but it says the file is too large.. any suggestions?

Just a quick update since my July posting.

Trapper won Best Puppy Dog in Specialty at the Steel Valley Cluster on 8/2 and did well at the rest of the shows. No points, but we were proud of him!

Trapper then went on to a USRC Santioning match (8/8/09) and received a V-2 Rating from judge Bill Crawley.

Well in the 2 weeks from Steel Valley - he grew!! imagine that!

Next up was a 3-day show, Aug 14-16, Chagrin Valley, where Trapper earned another 2-points!

And on to our 1st UKC Show, Sept 4 & 5, where he earned his UKC CHAMPIONSHIP in his 1st 3 UKC shows and also took a Group 3rd and 4th -- with ME handling him!

So, needless to say it's been a very fun ride! So we have 4 AKC points now a UKC Championship and I will also begin to trial him in Rally this fall -- I hope!

Off to Butler, PA and Wine Country Cluster, NY for September.
