Where was this in the news? |
I wrote that little rant yesterday (thanks for linking it)
Since then a lot of people have cc'd me into emails and letters sent to some of the media outlets mentioned in the piece, complaining about the un-balanced coverage.
The tabloids, I can just about stomach, I never expected they'd clarify. It's news to them anymore. But the fact that the BBC (
BBC NEWS | England | London | Dog kills owner in horror attack) has still not seen fit to change their inaccurate story is pretty telling.
Further to that, I got a press release today from a law firm who've done a 'survey' which suggests the British public is demanding new laws to legislate against Rottweilers.
The press release still contains reference to Mr Rehill having been 'killed by a Rottweiler'. So I alerted the firm in question to their rather important omission and asked them that I can trust they will rectify the error and re-call the press release given the new information I have provided them with.
Will wait and see but I bet they don't change it.
A valid question I believe worth asking (and it is totally hypothetical) had it been a Labrador standing over Mr Rehill, would people have turned up with baseball bats and would the Police have shot it?
We probably know the answer to that.
