| Re: Rottweiler burns down the house My mother's Rott started their house on fire when he was 11 months old.No one was home and he was being nosey. There cooktop had push buttons near the front edge and when he jumped up to see if there was anything good on the counter he managed to turn all the burners on.The stove got so hot that it started the cabinet below and above on fire.No one was home to call the fire dept so it burned for awhile before neighbors noticed the smoke. He found shelter in the basement (mom and dad always left the door open a little so he could go down there to cool off in the summer) and when the fire fighters came and he heard them he came up from the basement. The smoke was so think that he couldn't find his way out.The fire fighters found him in the bathtub. After the fire was put out you could see his footprints all over trying to figure out where the door was.He was unconscienous when the fire fighters got there but there policy is not to try to help animals so the neighbor had to give CPR to him.He came around quickly. But up until the day he died he had what the vet called a smoker's cough. When he would run around a lot he would begin to cough. Also from that day on when ever the smoke dectators went off in the house he would go nuts trying to get out of the house. The smoke dectators beeped until they melted off the ceiling. |
