FREDERICK — The father of a woman killed Wednesday morning in a crash on I-270 is offering a $5,000 reward for the person who finds the driver of a green pickup truck involved in the crash.

Earlier, a Rottweiler that had been riding with the Harrisburg, Pa. couple that was killed has survived and was reunited with the couple’s family this afternoon.

After making her way to an Urbana home about a mile from the crash site, Roxy, an adult female, was picked up by Frederick County Animal Control officers about 2:30 p.m. today, director Harold Domer said.

Roxy, who had been wearing a blue T-shirt when she arrived on the home’s doorstep Wednesday night, was sore but had not suffered any major injures, Domer said.

The dog will be transferred this afternoon to the couple’s family members, he said.

Christian Luciano, 28, and his girlfriend, Lindsay Bender, 25, both of Harrisburg, had been engaged in a road rage battle with the driver of a green pickup truck, police said. Luciano lost control of their 1998 Chrysler Sebring convertible while traveling south, striking several trees before landing in an embankment.

Police said Luciano and Bender, who were not wearing seat belts, were ejected from the car and died almost immediately.

Maryland State Police have not found the driver of the pickup and are investigating the crash."

Open Convertible? - With a Rottweiler? - No seatbelts?? - Engage a truck in a road rage situation - what were they thinking?.

Lucky dog.

Re: Frederick Maryland Fatal Car Crash - Rottweiler Survives

I used to take 270 up to PA a lot before 95/395 got so bad. Unless things have changed drastically, it's pretty much like every other highway and this accident could have/should have been avoided. Sad, but that dog is lucky.

Re: Frederick Maryland Fatal Car Crash - Rottweiler Survives

Whether the convertible was open or closed, getting involved in a road rage situation is really stupid and tragic. Never mind the stupidity of no seat belts. They might still have been injured or killed even with belts on, but staying IN the car is always better odds.

Amazing the dog survived.
