Rottweiler Attacks Man, Woman (Boston, MA)

Small Dogs Also Victims Of Attack
March 31, 2007

BOSTON -- A Rottweiler attacked a man and a woman, as well as two smaller dogs, before it was shot and killed by Boston police Friday night.

Boston police said their officers responded to an incident at Dorchester Avenue and Howes Street. When they arrived, they found a screaming woman and a man who was attempting to fend off an attack by the dog.

"The unleashed Rottweiler, which has a recent history of attack, was assailing a male victim as he held a small dog off the ground by its leash attempting to keep the small dog out of reach from the attacking animal," according to a press release issued by the department.

Police said the Rottweiler then lunged at one of the officers. "The officer was forced to discharge his department firearm, which fatally wounded the Rottweiler," the release said.

Two small dogs were injured in the attack and were taken to Angel Memorial Hospital.

Re: Rottweiler Attacks Man, Woman (Boston, MA)

Sigh.

Like I wrote before, I yet have to see the first aggressive dog that can't be brought under control by other means than a gun (for example, by using pepper spray).

It's the automatic grabbing for a gun that irritates me. Mel Gibson, in Lethal Weapon, showed how it should be done. That fragment is an example for all cops out there.
