Honestly, how does our breed end up in the hands of owners like these? It's no wonder we are threatened with loosing the right to own this magnificant breed of dog.

POLICE NEWS: Officer kills dog in Killeen

Killeen Police Department officials are conducting an investigation into a Dec. 30 shooting incident involving a Rottweiler in Killeen.

Police were called to 2721 Lewis Drive to assist a Killeen animal control officer who said the owners allegedly threatened to “sic” the dog on the officer, a department press release stated.

When the police officer arrived, the resident let the two officers inside the yard, the release stated. Once inside, an adult Rottweiler managed to get past his owner and allegedly came toward the officer.

The officer then shot the dog when it didn’t obey its owner’s commands, the release stated.

The dog was euthanized by the animal control officer at the owner’s request, the release stated.

Investigations into the incident show animal control responded to “numerous” complaints about the dog running loose,
and officers say they have seen aggressive behavior from the dog before, according to the release.

Unfortunately, many such dogs are raised by idiots like these since puppyhood. They do what they are conditioned to do. Very unfortunate. These folks should be banned from owning future dogs.
