| Re: 14 month old boy attacked by rottweiler(uk) Breeds Involved Pit Bull and Pit-bull-type dogs (21%), Mixed breed dogs (16%), Rottweilers (13%), German Shepherd Dogs (9%), Wolf Dogs (5%), Siberian Huskies (5%), Malamutes (4%), Great Danes (3%), St. Bernards (3%), Chow Chows (3%), Doberman Pinschers (3%), other breeds & non-specified breeds (15%). The one I saw didn't even have rotts in the top 5.

| Re: 14 month old boy attacked by rottweiler(uk) surely theres going to be a higher percentage of pit bulls and rotties because theres more of them than Malamutes or chow chows. surley you can only measure this when theres the same number of each breed of dog.im probably wrong ,thats why im asking, because im not sure. |

| Re: 14 month old boy attacked by rottweiler(uk) My thoughts exactly. Collies do bite a hell of a lot more often than rotties but no one would dream of tarring them all with the same brush like they do rottweilers. My partner had a phobia of dogs because a rough collie (lassie) jumped a fence and pulled her brother of his bike and bit him. She soon got over that fear when me and my late rottweiler bonnie moved in and she saw how gentle and soft dogs could really be when brought up and trained correctly. It would never have made the headlines if "lassie" had bit that child but when its a cold calculating vicious so called devil dog its just what the newspapers are waiting for. |

| Hi all, i am so fed up with seeing Rotties portayed as evil, snarling dogs that i don`t read the paper anymore. When this first hit the news my blood ran cold because i knew people would start saying how evil and as one person put in the paper (devil dog) this breed are. If Rotties were well trained and had lots of love and attention then this sort of thing would not happen. I have 2 young children myself, one 3 and one 5 and i never leave them alone with Bentley, because no matter how much you love them, you can never trust them 100%. I just hope that this dosn`t put people off of this breed for good cause as we all know Rotties are loving, inteligent and extreamley loyal dogs. |
