| Rottweiler Saves Woman's Life (CT) Please Cross Post!! North East Rottweiler Rescue's foster dog "Mach" was on his morning walk today outside of Snowflake Kennels in Milford CT. NERR boards their dogs at Snowflake while they wait for foster/permanent homes. Along the road that Snowflake is on are the NYC commuter train tracks. Mach insisted that he had to run over to the track. Jessica, the volunteer who was walking Mach, tried to redirect him, and Mach insisted. She finally let him pull her closer, and he started barking. She saw a pile of clothes and lying on the track and tried again to redirect him on his walk. Mach insisted. When they went closer to investigate, there was a woman lying on the tracks. The only reason this woman is alive now is because of Mach. This is the commuter rail so this woman would have been squashed. 911 was called and authorities arrived. Mach saved this woman's life! Mach is a 2-3 year old rottweiler boy who was found stray in Newington CT and accepted into our program earlier this month. North East Rottweiler Rescue provides education and rehoming for rottweilers in the north east US. We do not accept dogs into our program who have bite or aggression histories, and each dog is evaluated for temperament and health prior to behing brought into the program. Dogs reside in foster homes for at least two weeks before being available to a permanent home. Since our incorporation in February 98, we have placed over 400 dogs into permanent loving homes. NERR does not place dogs for guard or fighting purposes. More information is available about NERR you can visit our web site at http://www.rottrescue.org [ April 18, 2001: Message edited by: Hawk ] |
