Another story about Rottweiler prejudice!

Has anyone else seen this story? This was written in The Morning News in an article by Matthew Baldwin entitled "2005 Holiday Survival Guide for Slackers"
The following quote is just part of this article:

I’m afraid that until the dawn of that brave new world, you’re still expected to give tangible tokens of your affection. And that’s bad news for you. Because although Christmas is upon us like a rottweiler on a toddler, you still haven’t bought a thing for anyone. I guess you could go the gift-card route like everyone else, but a three-by-one-inch rectangle of plastic just doesn’t say “I care” like frantically buying a bunch of ???? off the internet at the last possible moment.

This just makes me mad and sad

Re: Another story about Rottweiler prejudice!

Newspapers and other media called the pope "God's Rottweiler".Do you believe that this Holly Man will bite anyone? Not because the newspapers gave him that name.I know that some people need very little to believe what they want to believe and you can fight against that way of thinking, come with good arguments and even statistics, nothing will change their opinion just BECAUSE they WANT to believe.I believe it's like fighting a wall.

Re: Another story about Rottweiler prejudice!

This is just disturbing. Rottwiler on a toddler?W.T.F pardon my french, but where do they get this and how can they legally print this? this stuff drives me nuts... I work in radio, and as an announcer, I CANNOT say things (NOR WOULD I) of this nature for fear of getting suid of prejudice.

You know the other day I was walking my dog, and the guy at the end of the street literally had a panic attack when he saw my dog coming...even though he had a muzzle and was totally minding his own. I asked the guy if he was okay and he said he had never seen a rottie before and didn't know that one lived in the area....AND PROCEEDED TO SAY... Rotties should be reported living in the area just like sex offenders!!!! Can you believe that???

I asked him if he has been reported for all his sins which as a human are substantial compared to a loyal dog..Boy WAS I FRIGGEN MAD.

Re: Another story about Rottweiler prejudice!

Just keep taking our well trained dogs out in public...and introduce them to the curious kids that haven't been "trained" to fear rottweilers. Cuz until we can eliminate the idiots that have misused and misbred this breed for so long, its going to be really hard to get rid of the public perception.

And we all know...the label this breed has gotten...its so so so wrong.

When the idiots approach me while I'm walking my dog...I just put him thru some obedience....generally while their little dogs are barking their heads off and acting idiotically (of course, always on a flex lead). When they have to scoop up their dog, it becomes pretty apparent which animal is causing that problem....and yet I know, they still leave thinking of the "evil, vicous" rottweiler.....it is way too pathetic.

I'm not scared to take Maxine to the dog park and let kids play with her. SHe is stunning!!!

Do you think that ROttweilers themselves are supposed to care about stupid derogatory comments like ROttweilers on toddlers? I don't.

I just move on and show off my Rottweilers around kids.
