New USRC club in Ohio..

There will soon be a new USRC club in Pickerington, Ohio. It is the Central Ohio Rottweiler Club (C.O.R.K.). We will be having conformation and shutzhund trials, breed tests, and seminars. Schutzhund training will be every saturday morning. I was asked to be the club's contact liason. I will post more info as it becomes available. Please pm me with any questions.

Pickerington is about 17 miles (Southeast) from Columbus.

Here is some more info from the club president John Bernard.

I would like to announce the return of the Central Ohio Rottweiler Club, that was one of the founding member clubs of the USRC. We are a partner club with the Columbus Hundesport Club, which is a forming USA schutzhund club.

The Ohio area has always been very strongly supported at our events by rottweiler people in the past. We hosted the first and only dually sanctioned Regional Sieger Show that was recognized by both the USRC and ARV. There were 188 entries at that event, which I believe makes it the largest regional event ever hosted by a member club of either organization. The following year we hosted the USRC National Sieger Show, in which we had 328 entries. Again, that was the largest National show ever done at the time, but I am not certain whether or not that record still stands today.

We will be resuming our meetings/training sessions on the 2nd Saturday of January. We will then meet every Saturday at 10:00 AM, until the weather warms and we are forced to move to an earlier time of day. Elections for various positions within the organization will be taking place soon, so we encourage anyone interested to introduce themself to us as soon as possible.

The Central Ohio Rottweiler Club plans to host quality shows and breed tests. We will also be working with the Columbus Hundesport Club to host schutzhund trials, and occasional seminars for schutzhund and police training.

If you would like to attend one of our weekly training sessions, you are welcome to come to meet us at the address below. Again, we will resume meetings at 10:00 AM on Saturday mornings, beginning on January 7th, 2006.
