A DISABLED man and his wife were rescued after their pet dog alerted them to a suspected arson attack at their flat.
Morpheus, a one-year-old Rottweiler, alerted Christian and Niki Justice to the blaze just inside their front door at Mutton Gate, St Clements Passage, Huntingdon.
Mr Justice, who is wheelchair bound, said he first realised something was wrong just after 1am this morning when he, Niki and Morpheus were in the lounge.
"Morpheus started scratching at the lounge door," said Mr Justice. "At first we just told him to shut up but eventually we opened the door to be confronted by thick black smoke.
Fire crews who were called to the flat smashed their way in but found the fire had already been put out by Niki throwing water.
