Girl mauled by six rotts

Dog Attacks Kills Wisconsin Girl

ELROY, Wis. - A 10-year-old girl was attacked and killed by six Rottweilers at a home where the dogs were apparently being kept illegally, police said.

Alicia Clark died Thursday night. A playmate was bitten while trying to help her.

No immediate charges were filed. The case was under investigation Friday.

Police Chief Nicholas Dub said the owners were in apparent violation of a city ordinance prohibiting more than three dogs at any residence. Only one Rottweiler was registered at the house.

No information on the owners or their connection to the two girls was disclosed.

The dogs were impounded.

This bothers me alot because I live about an hour away from Elroy. We have a rott pup and I don't want everyone to be afraid of her, but they are because of this. It just makes me very upset.

This is very sad.

Just so you all know, this attack occurred in Feb. 2002.

This did happen over a year ago, but it stays in the back of peoples minds forever. People around here are so afraid of rotts, when 95% of the dogs are the sweetest dogs you will ever meet.

Oh, I agree that it is still relevant, mercedes. I just know that whenever a new attack occurs, we all brace for the next onslaught of breed specific legislation that will occur in reaction to the attack. I just wanted to let everyone know that a new attack had not occurred, we are all still feeling the sting from what happened last week in Canada.
