Rottweiler eats 505 coins, dies

REDKEY, Ind. - A 94-pound, seven-year-old Rottweiler has died after consuming 505 coins.

An Indiana veterinarian surgically removed the change, which totaled $23.28, from Siren's stomach shortly before she died of copper sulfate poisoning.

Veterinarian Jim Wasson says he has removed two or three coins from the stomachs of miserly mutts before, but never anything like the five pounds inside Siren.

The coins were discovered in an X-ray.
