| Re: Bay Area Rottweiler Klub show & bst, Dec 9-10 BARK no longer has a web site: I had one going for a while when it was on a free hosting site, but discontinued it when they started charging. I haven't persued finding another service and resurecting the site. You are welcome to bring your dog along. I'm sure you will make sure he won't be a disturbance to the dogs in the ring, etc. Also, I'm sure you will be sure to bring a crate for him so you can put him away if you decide you want to eat lunch in peace, etc. If you would like to enter the CGC with him, that would be great.

| Re: Bay Area Rottweiler Klub show & bst, Dec 9-10 Yes I was looking into the CGC testing for the Turlock location in Dec. I have the paper work here and will most likely be sending it in. Thanks, Stephanie |

| Re: Bay Area Rottweiler Klub show & bst, Dec 9-10 I'm still thinking about it Marlene. That weekend is now sandwiched between a Thanksgiving weekend agility trial (NAH, I'm not addicted ) and an early January trip north to visit Becky and Co. If nothing else I'll try to come up Sat AM for a couple hours just to see what it's all about. Especially if you bring the land shark![]()

| Re: Bay Area Rottweiler Klub show & bst, Dec 9-10 The land shark is entered, so yeah, he'll be there. Right now, he's starting to be the toothless land shark. Ah, blessed times.

| Re: Bay Area Rottweiler Klub show & bst, Dec 9-10 I live in Visalia and have never been to a confirmation show. Would I be welcome to come and hang out, talk with other Rott owners and even bring my girl for others to look at and give me tips or is this the wrong venue? I would like to pursue CGC cert with her but not sure about alot of things.....is this the place to go or would I be ignored. My girl is now 20 weeks, 56lbs and 20inches at the shoulder. Progressing relatively well with her obedience training and being a great kid overall. Thanks Tad |

Jumping in here since I don't know when Marlene will be back on line...but I think you'll find people to be very helpful, as long as you are...considerate, I guess is the right word, of when to ask questions. I'm free that weekend and plan on going up just to watch, so you can hang out with me if you like. And I'll sic you on Marlene and Lucy. HA!

| Re: Bay Area Rottweiler Klub show & bst, Dec 9-10 Thanks for chiming in, Beth. You are right on. Tad, we'd love to have you come up and hang out with us. You may bring your pup along, but I ask that you have something you can confine her in while if needed (if you feel comfortable leaving her loose in your car, that's your call - otherwise, a crate). We cannont allow people to tie out their dogs during the show. Coming to the show is a great place to learn. People are generally very helpful and informative. Also, just be watching and listening, you will learn a lot. The cool thing about these types of shows is the judge gives an oral critique of all dogs presented over a PA system, so all people "see what he sees." That can help folks learn a lot. I would suggest you check out akc.org for more info on the CGC before coming up to the show and if there is an AKC obedience class in your area, go to them and have the instructor run through the tests so you know what to expect. Then, when you come up for ours, you won't be totally green. The evaluators we have that weekend are great people and are very helpful. Depending on how busy they are, I'm sure they will be happy to explain and answer your questions. I am always happy to answer any questions I can, but I have to caution you (and everybody else) that I am VERY busy on our show weekends, so I generally can't commit a lot of time for folks. I am constantly running around like a chicken sans head and I always feel guilty that I don't spend enough time talking with people during the show. It's really best to ask me stuff before the event as much as possible and I usually have more time to talk your ear off. Tad, if your girl is AKC registered, unspayed and doesn't have any disqualifying faults (that you know of), you might enjoy entering her in the show. It's a pretty laid back affair and you can get the most qualified person (on that day) to give you an opinion on your dog. If you decide you aren't going to enter and want to bring her along anyway, that's fine. I'm sure there will be folks there who will tell you what they think. Remember, though, you get what you pay for. Certainly don't ask my opinion: I don't know how a chicken without a head can have its foot in its mouth, but I'm sure I can accomplish that feat!I hope you come up and would love to meet you.

| Re: Bay Area Rottweiler Klub show & bst, Dec 9-10 Thank you both for your answers!!! My kid is AKC reg and has had all of her shots. She is crate trained and if I bring her she will either be on lead or in the crate. She is working on socialization so probably will not bring her so that she will not be a distraction to anyone. She still gets that overall puppy excitement when she spies someone that she thinks she might be able to play with. But on lead she knows that she has to behave a bit better. I have been to the AKC site and have copied the CGC requirements and they are hanging here on the wall next to my desk and leashes. I would like to see other dogs in action as I have not had the opportunity to go to any type of AKC event. I think that I will plan on coming up on Sunday as Saturday is already full for me. I plan on bringing my camera, my ears and this new found enthusiasm for the breed. My kid is priceless, she fits into the family of other dogs (2) that I have rescued in past years ( 14 YO and 4 YO mixed breeds). I would like to hang out with other people who love the breed as much as I am beginning to. Thanks so much for your time.
