Re: NERF Sieger show - Oct - Mass

You could find the distance by using any of the online Map programs. I don't know it off the top of my head.

I am not a member of the club, I don't know about CGC's, you'll have to contact them.

Here are the requirements for entry: Border crossing

Further info on when passports will be necessary:

"The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) will require all travelers to the United States to have a valid passport by January 1, 2008, including citizens of the U.S. and Bermuda, in accordance with a Congressionally mandated deadline. The passport requirement will be imposed on arrivals by air and sea in advance of the January 1, 2008. This earlier deadline will be published in the Federal Register later this year, but we anticipate passports will be required for airport and seaport arrivals into the United States in early 2007. "

I'll go to that! I've never been to a Seiger show before so this is something completely new to me. Do they have obedience trials at them or is it strictly conformation??

This could also be a place were we have a New England RDN get together!

Re: NERF Sieger show - Oct - Mass

It is strictly conformation. They will also be having a breed measurement survey, which is similar to part of the BST (USRC) or ZTP (ADRK) and is great learning experience. The dog is measured in many different ways, and then critiqued.

Is he still intact? He can't be entered if he's not intact. Also, you'll need OFA cert on his hips. Typically, judges try to find the positive points in critiquing a dog. They don't usually tear a dog apart, and rarely do you hear "dog needs more X. Y is wrong, Z should be more blah blah." You'd typically hear "light in bone" rather than "lacking in bone" or "needs more substance."

Re: NERF Sieger show - Oct - Mass

Lynne mentioned this and Aaron and I will be going to this. I think it will be a great chance to learn more about rottweilers. I'm hoping to see some RDN people and dogs there! It will be so fun to watch everyone with their dogs. We are really looking forward to actually seeing a show!

Oh good lord no...he's a 29" tall, animal shelter dog who originally was bought from a pet store. Need I say more?? LOL

Could you bring a dog with you who is not entered?? Could I bring my jolly green giant rescue with me if I went to watch?

Re: NERF Sieger show - Oct - Mass

There is absolutely NO reason to have an unentered dog near the ring. None. I find that highly disrespectful to the people who have paid their entry fees. You have no idea what dogs may have what issues, and if you're busy watching the show, then you're NOT paying close attention to your dog.

PLEASE do NOT bring unentered dogs ringside. This is a common-sense rule that most clubs strongly enforce.

I've seen bad fights at shows, started by dogs OUTSIDE the ring (with dogs inside the ring) and I personally will be a raving "you know what" and tell people to move dogs back if I see them ring-side. I have no wish to see any more ring-fights.

Re: NERF Sieger show - Oct - Mass

Sam's neutered and I won't bring him. I was just wondering that's all because I have seen people bring dogs to trials who weren't entered.
