Re: Moccasin Gap Working Dog Club

Elisabeth,

Good luck with the trial!!! I wish I would have gotten off my rear and sent in my stuff for DVG when you told me to. Now I am having to "settle" to do Zephir's BH at a USA trial in January. Please make sure to take lots of pictures. I hope this trial is a huge success!!!!

Re: Moccasin Gap Working Dog Club

Wellll.... we had a terrific time, depsite the fact that JoJo never made it out of Central Florida...

Deiter was a very good sport.... we not only did the BH routine once, we did it twice! Because of a scorebook snafu, we were not able to compete for real, so we volunteered as the 'honor' dog (Mrs. Patterson called it the dummy dog..I held my hands over Deit's ears..LOL) and got to run through the routine twice. Mr. Deit did very well, and Mrs. Patterson was disappointed (not as disappointed as I was.. ) that our scorebook was not in order. We did, however, get some terrific field time without the pressure of real competition, so I only felt nauseous after my first run through...

As an aside, Deiter got an unofficial award for having more field time than any other dog at the trial, and he had a fabulous time socializing with all the nice women in attendance... LOL.

One of our club dogs scored very high for the III, and impressed the helpers quite a bit(e).

Our field is awesome, flat, and can be set up as regulation size. The tracking field was nearly 100 acres of freshly plowed Georgia farmland, and was a terrific location for the dogs to track on.

A good time was had by all, and our club members who competed achieved their goals! Congratulations to all for a job well done!

Thanks to everyone who attended our Innaugeral Ball, we look forward to seeing you in the future!

Re: Moccasin Gap Working Dog Club

Happy to hear the trial was a success, sorry to hear about your scorebook woes. We had that problem at our last trial in Nov, had 6 people who could not trial because they had not received their scorebooks yet and they were requested in plenty of time. We requested Roxie's, our rescue, 3-4 months ago and still have not received it. Something odd is going on over in Germany it seems.

Double Sigh here!!!

Glad to here that Deiter did so well and you didn't pass out - (Glad you put your hands over the Deiter's ears - he is far from the Dummy Dog...)

Give him a big ole scratch for me.

Nothing odd is going on in Germany. This was no fault of Germany's. They have rules, and we must follow them. The snafu was my fault entirely. I dilly dallied around sending my application in the first place, and was unaware that all owners of the dog must be DVG members. Mrpooh and I co-own all of our dogs, and we didn't apply for his membership this year. So, I will do what I need to do to rectify the situation.........Lesson learned.

I was told however, that if one doesn't receive a scorebook within 3 weeks or so, to inquire immediately, because the USPS does make mistakes now and again.

We had a blast, and it was a terrific experience. I learned a lot.

Glad to hear your isn't being held up by Germany. Ours are though. Our club contact person has inquired several times and they were told that they are being held up for some reason. Our club isn't the only one having this problem.
