Pumpkin Doggie Cookies

And because it is the last day of the year....

1/2 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup water
2 Tablespoons oil such as sesame, vegetable, olive
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup whole rolled oats
2 cups flour, either whole wheat, rice or unbleached white

Combine pumpkin, water, oil, cinnamon, and nutmeg into a bowl. Gradually add oats and flour. Roll dough to 1/4" thickness and cut with cookie cutter or into squares. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Check often to see if they are done. They should be thin and crisp.

Re: Pumpkin Doggie Cookies

Thank you for posting this recipe, I was looking into making Neyla some doggie cookies but wasn't sure which kind to make. Never thought about making pumpkin ones.

I'm going to attempt to try them next weekend on my next grocery shopping trip. I think I'm going to modify the recipe (below) eliminating the nutmeg and cinnamon so that cats can enjoy it too.

2 cups of canned pumpkin
1/2 cup of goats milk (might just keep this at water)
2 Tablespoons of olive oil
1 egg
1 cups of whole wheat flour

Combine pumpkin, goats milk, olive oil, into a bowl. Gradually add flour. Roll dough to 1/4" thickness and cut with cookie cutter or into squares. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Check often to see if they are done. They should be thin and crisp.
