| For All Of You When I read or see things that touch my heart I write poetry. Here is a poem for all of you that have lost. May your recovery be swift, but your memories last forever. You brightened up my every day If only for a while I'll miss your little floppy ears I'll miss your doggy smile I listened to you snore each night When you were fast asleep But if I moved to go to bed You would jump to your feet I told you that the bed was mine You must sleep on the floor If I could have just one more day I wouldn't say that anymore You ran into the kitchen Every time you heard me there And when I said, "You don't like this" Your eyes said, "I DON'T CARE!" So I would give you broccoli And you'd spit it on the floor You had the nerve to look back up And say, "I WANT SOME MORE!" You terrorized the little squirrels And scared the birds away They really didn't understand You only wanted to play I think about your little quirks And all the fun we had But I couldn't watch you there in pain It made me feel so bad I know that you will never know The way it made me cry As I held your head and rubbed your paw The day we said good-bye But you're still in my kitchen With your picture on my fridge And I know that all your pain is gone On your side of the bridge. "Don't ask God why he took the ones we love, THANK him for giving them to us to love, if only for a little while." |

| Thank You! I guess we sometimes forget how lucky we were to be blessed to have them. We should be thanking God for knowing just what we needed when He sent these wonderful creatures our way!!

| Dear Sophie's Mom, Thank you for writing and posting your poem. It is so lovely and honest. It takes courage to post personal poetry when one is not a professional. I'll print it out today when I go to work and keep it as another way to celebrate Sammy and Thor's time with us and to reinforce patience with our new rottie puppy Phoenix. Linda |
