Gracie

Hi All,

Tonight, after 14 wonderful years together, my Grace departed this world while she was sleeping. We heard a strage hawling and when I ran upstairs she was already gone.
Although she had Arthritis, she kept going pretty well until she stopped.

I am very glad that I had the opportunity to walk with her and my son today at 6 pm. She seemed very happy and enjoyed the walk....

I know I will miss her greatly. Not sure how to tell my 3.5 years old son, where is Gracie, in the morning.

Here are some photos of Grace.

Re: Gracie

You must be proud to have a rottie for 14 wonderful years. Also she passed away while sleeping without suffering much.

I feel sorry for your loss.

Re: Gracie

What a beautiful old soul Gracie was with her grey muzzle.

I pray you find the word to explain this to your young boy. (Who is darling, BTW.)

Re: Gracie

Thank you all for your king and thoughtful words.

Her well advanced age is certainly the part that ease the pain somewhat. I was always afraid of the day I will have to put her to sleep.. I guess she knew it and saved me a greater pain.

It was a weired experience but just before she passed away, she woke up, gave a very long howling and left. It was something I've never heard before.

Re: Gracie

My sympathies on your loss.
14 is a wonderful age for a Rottie - it speaks volumns about how well cared for she was. She looked great up till the end, and she went the way I wish all of them could (in their sleep at a ripe old age).
Good luck with your son... :(
