Annette, I am truly sorry.

I will pray that you have the strenght to move forward. I know its hard to do so but if not for you then be strong for your babies.

Godspeed.....

I'm so sorry for your loss. Aik sounds like he was not only an amazing dog but a very special friend.

I just want to thank you all for all of your prayers and expressions of sympathy. They really do make this horrible, painful and hearbreaking time a little easier.

Some of your private messages were just incredibly touching. Yes; they made me cry; but those words, sent by people who really do "understand" sure do mean a lot.

The working dog world is really a small place...and when a dog who was as outgoing and terrific as Aik passes.....it doesn't take long for the people in the sport to hear of the news and offer their condolences.

I've gotten emails today from people in Europe and here in the States that I've not seen/spoken to in years....e-cards from fellow dog friends....and some of the most touching tributes to Aik that it really overwhelmed me.

People recount stories of different trials we were in and give the "remember when Aik did _______ at the trial in Texas??"

Judges that we've trialed under....speaking of the heart Aik had and what a pleasure it was to judge us as a dogteam on the field; and one went so far as to say that rarely have they seen a dog and handler have the obvious respect and love that we had on and off the field. (That one reduced me to a puddle on the floor...big ole salty puddle of tears.)

He was my "once in a lifetime". I'm just really thankful that I was able to have him in my life; he taught me so much.

As much as it hurts (and BOY OH BOY DOES IT HURT!! :( ) I wouldn't have missed ONE SECOND with him.....

Loving Aik....being his *human*....being his friend....makes this pain more than worth it.

They just never, ever, ever live long enough.... :(
